Amy Rabe, BScPN, RPN

Amy has a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing.

• Registered Psychiatric Nurse, licensed with CPRNM and the (RHPA) Regulated Health Care Professions Act #3573. 

• Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counsellor.

Born and raised in Brandon, Amy graduated from Brandon University in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing. Since 2007, Amy has worked in the health care system, and over the last 9 years has worked in various areas of mental health, such as the Centre for Geriatric Psychiatry, the Mobile Crisis Unit, the Crisis Stabilization unit, and Community Mental Health. 

Amy has always been passionate about using her education to serve her community through psychiatric nursing and counselling. Amy’s counselling style has a focus on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, Solution Focus, Motivational Interviewing, Client Centered and Trauma Informed Care. Amy also has a background in crisis intervention with ASIST training and has specialized training in Birth and Reproductive Trauma as well as Pregnancy, Grief and Loss. Through all of her education and resources, Amy is always striving to connect with and set a comfortable therapeutic environment for all of her clients.

Since becoming a mother herself, Amy has found a special interest in women’s health with a specific goal of developing services directed towards Maternal Mental Heath. Meaning supporting women and birthing parents from time of conception through pregnancy, birth and  transitioning to parenthood . With this aim in mind, Amy has completed training in Perinatal Mental health and now certified with Postpartum International Support and has garnered further advanced training in psychotherapy.
