Chris has a four year Psychology degree from Brandon University and a Masters' of Social Work from University of Manitoba.

Chris started working in the mental health field in 2012 and has spent the last decade working with diverse individuals of varying cultural backgrounds. Chris started in mental health working at Westman Crisis Services where he provided group and individual counselling services to those staying on the unit. Chris later moved to the 7th Street Health Access Centre in the role of service navigator helping individuals engage in a variety of services and provided support to individuals during a crisis. As part of his Master’s program, Chris trained with the Mobile Crisis Unit and has recently started working with the Westman Community Mobilization Hub.

Chris has extensive experience working with those in crisis and has worked with individuals experiencing trauma, grief and addictions in addition to working with those struggling with their mental health.

Chris focuses on creating a non-judgmental supportive relationship where the individual defines the goals they want to work towards. This client centered approach allows for the individual to choose counselling methods and learn skills best suited to their needs and situation.
